Naming your horse is one of the more creative parts of ownership—it’s your chance to make a lasting impression!
But remember, once that name is picked and the horse races, it's locked in for life.
So, take your time and make it count!
The Process
To submit your chosen name, you’ll need to fill out an official naming form and pay the €137.50 fee to Horse Racing Ireland.
Your name can’t be more than 18 characters, and it should be fun—not offensive, confusing, or controversial. If you want to name your horse after a celebrity, brand, or company, you’ll need to get written permission.
The naming process can take 10 to 14 days, so give yourself plenty of time to get it all sorted.
