Horse Racing Ireland Owners’ Club Terms and Conditions

General

  1.  These Terms and Conditions set out the terms and conditions that apply to your membership of the Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) Owners’ Club. 
  2.  The HRI Owners’ Club is managed and operated by HRI Ownership.
  3. By joining the club you automatically accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Membership Eligibility

  1. HRI Owners’ Club is open to all active owners registered with HRI for the duration of their active registration only.
  2. The Club is not open to micro shareholders, anyone owning/leasing less than 1% of a horse and anyone not registered with HRI. 
  3. It is the responsibility of the syndicate or club agent to ensure owners are registered with HRI, if they wish to join the Owners’ Club. 
  4. To become a member an individual must fill out the online registration form.
  5. Membership is not open to companies, unincorporated associations or similar entities.
  6. Membership is offered at HRI’s discretion and we may refuse membership to any applicant.
  7. HRI Ownership reserves the right to cancel a membership. 
  8. Membership is not transferable. 

Benefits

  1. As a Member of the Owners’ Club we may offer you certain benefits. For a full list of Membership Benefits and Events visit our website or log into your membership account. 
  2. On occasion numbers for club events may be restricted. 
  3. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions guarantees that you will receive any or all Membership Benefits and we retain discretion whether or not to offer any Membership Benefits to you. 
  4. When you attend any events offered to members of the Owner’s Club you must comply with all rules (such as dress code, health and safety and the like) in operation at the relevant venue.
  5. On occasion you will have to produce your membership badge to obtain entry to Club facilities or events. 
  6. Replacement badges will be charged at cost. 

Your Details

  1. You are responsible to ensure your contact details are up to date and must update your membership profile with any change of name, postal or email address.
  2. Correspondence will be sent to your last postal address and/or the e-mail address provided on your registration or already held by us. We are not responsible for late, lost or misdirected mail.
  3. Club members can update their communication and membership preferences at any time. 
  4. Club members can unsubscribe from the Club at any time. To unsubscribe click here. 
  5. Should you unsubscribe from the club but hold a ticket for an up-and-coming event you are still eligible to attend the event in question. 
  6. Should you unsubscribe from the club without having received an admission ticket for a particular event you are not eligible to attend the particular event.

Data Protection and Privacy and Confidentiality Notice 

  1. Do not forward your registration link or any club email messages to a third party. They are unique to you and may contain confidential information and your personal data. All correspondence is intended solely for the use of the individual to whom they are addressed. Sharing of this information or any links may result in the disclosure of your personal data. HRI is not liable for any loss resulting from such sharing including any economic losses or indirect or consequential losses.
  2. Horse Racing Ireland may share club member data including names and email addresses with the relevant racecourse for the purpose of emailing race day tickets.
  3. Horse Racing Ireland may share club member data including names and email addresses with a third party for the purpose to hosting a club event and only if the club member has requested to attend said event. 
  4. We process personal information about you that we need to process your membership application (where applicable), to provide you with Membership Benefits and services you expect from your membership which includes showing and emailing you exclusive offers, promotions and content we believe will interest you most.
  5. In agreeing to these terms and conditions and becoming a Member of The Owners Club, you agree that we can utilise your name, image or likeness in, or incidental to, any photograph or live or recorded television or in any other type of transmission or reproduction, in whole or in part, while at events or race meetings as a member and that you shall not be entitled to any compensation or credit. 
  6. We will process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy-Policy which may be amended from time to time. 

Membership Duration

  1. Your membership will automatically renew annually on the 1st of January along with your ownership renewal.
  2. You can unsubscribe from the club at any time. Click here to unsubscribe. 
  3. If at any stage you cancel your ownership and are no longer an active owner, your club membership will automatically be cancelled. 
  4. Club Membership may be terminated by HRI Ownership any time for violation of any rule or regulation of the Club, or any venue where we hold an event, or for conduct deemed by us to be detrimental to the welfare, good order or character of the Club and its members or for any other reason at the sole discretion of HRI Ownership.

Changes and Club Termination 

  1. We reserve the right at all times to make any changes to these Terms and Conditions. Any changes will be communicated to you by way of a notice on our website. 
  2. We may close down The Owners’ Club at any time. We will use reasonable endeavours to give at least one month’s notice to Members in the event that The Owners’ Club is being  closed down. 
  3. We may modify, withdraw, amend or add to any Membership Benefits or other offers or arrangements or impose any requirements or restrictions relating to the use of Membership Benefits. We will give as much advance notice as practicable of such action to you.
  4. You shall be deemed to have agreed to any modifications, withdrawal, amendment or addition to the Membership Benefits if, after you have been notified of the changes, you continue to access the Membership Benefits. If you do not wish to accept the changes, you may unsubscribe from the club at any stage. 

Exclusion of Liability 

  1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
  2. Other than in respect of condition 34, and to the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to you for any losses resulting from your membership of the Owners’ Club, including any economic losses or indirect or consequential losses.
  3. Law and Jurisdiction 
  4. These Terms and Conditions and any disputes relating to them will be governed by and construed in accordance with Irish law, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland. 
  5. This will not prevent HRI from pursuing a claim for breach of contract, copyright infringement or otherwise in respect of these Terms and Conditions in any other jurisdiction throughout the world.
